Airport Connections & Transit Info
The Canada Line is a great option for transportation between YVR airport and the Delta Hotels Vancouver Downtown Suites. The downtown terminus station is Waterfront, which is approximately 200 metres from the hotel. Translink vehicles (SkyTrain, buses, SeaBus) accept credit cards.
Black Top & Checker Cabs can be reached at (604) 731-1111; Yellow Cabs can be reached at (604) 681-1111. Vancouver doesn't currently have ride sharing services such as Uber or Lyft.
If you have a little extra time, the trip via SeaBus across the Burrard Inlet from Waterfront Station in downtown Vancouver to Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver is a quick and easy way to see the city from a different perspective. Lonsdale Quay is a lovely spot for coffee, lunch or a craft beer. In a similar vein, Vancouver has two fleets of small harbour ferries (False Creek Ferries & Aquabus) plying the waters of False Creek. You can take one of these small boats across to Granville Island, west to the Museum of Vancouver or east to Science World and Olympic Village.
Parking
SFU Harbour Centre parking information is available here.
A number of other parking garages/lots are available near Harbour Centre - information is here.
The best deal for all day parking is at 450 West Cordova Street (across from Harbour Centre). The maximum cost is $12 or $10 with the early bird rate (enter before 8:30am and leave by 6pm).
Local Information
There will be an opportunity to connect with other delegates via casual dine-around dinners on Tuesday - please sign up at the registration desk. If you have a little extra time while you're in the area, there are a number of opportunities to enjoy Indigenous cuisine. Salmon & Bannock is one of our dine around options, specializing in wild fish, free range game meat and of course bannock, baked fresh daily (open for dinner Mon-Sat). Lelem' Arts & Cultural Cafe is next to the river in nearby Fort Langley and features some of the traditional flavours of a Coast Salish diet (open daily 7-7).
